Lessons

Aside from my passion to share my thoughts through this blog about my life as a parent to my special needs daughter, I’ve been propelled to embark upon another project that means a lot to me. For the last two years I’ve decided to document my journey of parenting my daughter through all the ups and downs of learning how we can be our best selves in a world that too often tends to be judgmental of others for their differences.

Through this experience I have come to the reality that not every person we encounter can be someone who deserves a place in our lives. Some are often people that are just present to teach us the hard lessons. They are there to be disruptors and serve no positive purpose in our lives at all. The best thing we can do is dismiss them from our presence. The biggest lesson we can learn from these experiences is to know that when we allow someone to be in our presence is our acknowledgement that they are given the privilege to do so and it that is not something that should be granted to just anyone.
